Terms and Conditions

  1. Your Registration

Upon your registration and payment of this event, once accepted and a confirmation email has been received by you, stands as a contract between yourself and Lake Kaniere Scenic Triathlon Incorporated. The contract is governed by the rules set out in these terms and conditions and must be always abided by. 

  1. Your Payment 

Once you have registered for the event, you must make payment for the event, prices as stated on the entry form. Two weeks prior to the event commencing, you will receive a confirmation email of your entry and payment into the event, plus any additional documentation required. 

  1. Your Cancellation

You may cancel your entry with us, but a cancellation fee of 20% will apply. If you wish to cancel your entry, you must contact us at lakekanieretri@gmail.com as soon as possible, prior to the 19th of February. 

  1. COVID Cancellation

In respect to the event being cancelled as a direct result of an impact of COVID restrictions by the Ministry of Health, your entry may be deferred to 2024 or a refund – a 10% administration cost will apply. 

  1. Behaviour and Conduct

As event participators, you agree and accept all rules and regulations of the event organisers and marshals on the day of the event. All visitors to the area, as it is public land, must not damage, cause annoyance, disturbance on inconvenience to any of the property or surrounding property. If at any time safety is not adhered to, the event organisers have the right to remove person/persons from the location of the event. The event staff reserve the right to remove participants from this event if they believe the person is impaired by alcohol or drugs to the extent that they may be a hazard to themselves or others.

  1. Safety of Persons and Property

Each individual is personally responsible for their safety, and the safety of their property. We cannot accept responsibility for any loss of property at the event. Each person is to undertake the event with full responsibility that they can complete the course in a safe manner without assistance. Any medical conditions that may affect medical treatment in the point of emergency will need to be stated, as well as consent for medical treatment, and an online form will be provided on confirmation of entry email, two weeks prior to event commencing. 

  1. Medical staff at the hub 

Lake Kaniere Scenic Triathlon Incorporated will ensure there are qualified medical staff located at the hub in case of an emergency. On water support for kayakers and swimmers will be provided in the form of two boats, and one boat respectively. Kayakers if in difficulty should raise a paddle straight in the air and assistance will come to you. Swimmers are to cease swimming and raise a hand directly in the air, and assistance will come to you. Cyclists and runners are followed both by a tail end Charlie, and marshals on the course will have radios, in the event medical staff based at the hub need to be transported to the incident site. 

  1. Photographs and Video footage

By registering for this event, you are confirming Lake Kaniere Scenic Triathlon Inc. has the rights to publish any photos or videos taken during the event. If you do not wish to have footage taken of yourself by the event team, you must notify Lake Kaniere Scenic Triathlon in writing via lakekanieretri@gmail.com

  1. Spectators

Spectators are strongly encouraged, but please don’t interfere with athletes participating in the event, or any official personal associated with the event.

  1. Force Majeure 

Lake Kaniere Scenic Triathlon shall not be liable for any loss, damage or expense which you or your team incur arising from a change or cancellation to your arrangements which occur due to unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond reasonable control. 

  1. Complaints Procedure 

In the event you have any issue with the running of the event, you may make your complaint in writing to lakekanieretri@gmail.com, otherwise you may see the event organiser on the day if it is an issue to running of the event that can be adjusted immediately. 

  1. Information Accuracy

To the best of the Lake Kaniere Scenic Triathlons acknowledge the information provided on the website, www.lakekanieretri.com as well as the face book page is accurate. This will be consistently updated.
